Bryce Drew – The 6-3 Drew was the runaway choice for Mr. Basketball as a senior after his 1993-94 season. He led the undefeated Vikings to the state finals before falling to South Bend Clay. He averaged 25 points, 5.2 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game and finished his career with 1,577 points. He battled a heart ailment as a junior but averaged 17.6 points per game. Drew selected to play for hometown Valparaiso and his father, Homer Drew, turning down Clemson, Notre Dame and LaSalle. He had a record-setting career at Valpo, where he was twice named the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year. Drew scored 2,142 career points at Valparaiso, averaging 17.7 points, 5.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game for his four-year career. His shot to beat Ole Miss in the 1998 NCAA tournament remains an all-time tourney highlight. Drew was drafted No. 16 overall by the Houston Rockets in the 1998 NBA draft. He averaged 4.4 points and 2.2 assists per game in his six-year NBA career.
