Welcome to

Our featured story is about Orlando “Gunner” Wyman. He won 71% of his games during his outstanding coaching career. Many of his most memorable games would be while coaching the Vincennes Lincoln Alices against their arch rival the Jasper Wildcats. To call the rivalry “bitter” would be an understatement. There are many high schools in Indiana who would claim they have the most famous rivalry in the state, but I would bet none of those school’s coaches took the hate of their opposition to the grave. And maybe hate is the wrong word, but there can be no doubt Coach Wyman took a jab at the good folks of Jasper when he arranged to have those words etched into his gravestone.

” I HAD RATHER BE HERE THAN IN JASPER, IND. GUNNER WYMAN”

Only in southern Indiana is basketball so important that a coach speaks from the grave!!! To see the story, just type in Gunner in the search box. Thanks for visiting the gameremembered.com.
