In just a few short weeks the 2025-26 Indiana High School Basketball Season will begin. Teams and their respective schools all across the state are excited to get the season underway.
Are we going to have a winning season? Will we at least be 500? Can we win our sectional? Will our team make it to the State Finals?
Am I going to be a starter? How much playing time will I get? Am I going to get a scholarship? And for some elite players: What about my NIL?
These types of questions are in the minds of coaches, players, fans, and communities all across the state.
Junior Gee understands these questions, because he lived them out for most of his life. Junior Gee, Loogootee High School basketball star, began his high school career in 1959. He started his freshman season for legendary coach Jack Butcher. Gee spent three years on the 8th grade squad, but only did grade eight one year. He began his eighth grade career when he was a fifth grader!
Perhaps no other boy or girl who has played the game of basketball in Indiana loved the game like Junior Gee. In his excellent interview with Greg Bateman, Gee shares his hardships growing up with a single Mom and seven siblings and how his enduring love for basketball got him through to college.
