If you want a beautiful fall drive and live in Southern Indiana, Highway 450 between Bedford and Shoals is amazing right now. My wife snapped the photo above in Trinity Springs, a wide spot in the road with some interesting history. Three natural springs in the area made Trinity Springs a popular tourist destination in the early 1900’s. Seven hotels were open for business in the town’s heyday. I found the Trinity Springs Sulphurs’ 1941-42 basketball schedule from a clipping in the Bedford Times -Mail in November of 1941. The article about their game with Williams is from the same publication December 12, 1942.
I found the schedule interesting in that none of the schools they played in 1942 exist today. I tried to find the year of the school’s closing and where the students transferred. My guess is Loogootee or Shoals. I am hoping someone can let me know more about Trinity Springs High School!
